Advancing Humanities Through Research

Shaping Knowledge, Preserving Heritage

BRC fosters world-class research in history, philosophy, sociology, religion, and Bengal’s cultural heritage—nurturing ideas, supporting scholars, and building global partnerships for lasting impact.

Our Research Focus

Strategic Initiatives Driving Global Scholarship

At the Bhaktivedanta Research Center (BRC), we are committed to a world class standard of excellence in research and scholarship in the history, philosophy, aesthetics, sociology, comparative religion and cultural heritage of Bengal. BRC welcomes proposals for research projects in these areas of humanities. We seek to provide a creative and supportive research environment in which innovative ideas are not just encouraged but nourished to their actualization contributing to the well-being of society. A number of research scholars over the years have utilized the rare collection of documents at the BRC, including the latest facilities.

We have identified a number of Strategic Research Initiatives which build on the existing research to tackle challenges that can be addressed by multi-disciplinary teams of researchers. Our aim is to provide academic leadership in these areas and to develop strategic partnerships around the world to advance research, and the impact of that research, in these fields.
